SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 25
(By Senators Humphreys, Grubb, Walker and Wehrle)
Congratulating DuPont High School football team on winning its
first state championship.
Whereas, The 1992 football season ended with the DuPont High
School Panthers winning its first Class AAA state championship
since the school was established in 1931; and
Whereas, The DuPont High School football team ended the 1992
season with eleven wins and only three losses; and
Whereas, Head coach, Dick Whitman; assistant coaches,
Robert Allport, Danny Hill, Jim Cooke, Paul Skidmore and Harry
Wallace; and athletic director, Jim Fout, take great pride in
leading their team to the 1992 Class AAA championship; and
Whereas, The outstanding athletic ability of the 1992 DuPont
High School football team was star-studded with three all-county
and all-state members, Mark McDaniels, Danny Bowles and Randy
Moss; two all-county and second team all-state members, Steven
Smith and Michael Ford, who also won the Tom McCann Award; and
four all-county members, Bobby Cochran, Billy Gilmore, Jeremy
Sweeney and Sam Singelton; and
Whereas, The DuPont High School football team is supported
by the student body, composed of 652 students; principal J.
Patrick Law; vice principal Brooks Watkins; and the faculty, as
well as the community of Belle; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the DuPont High School football team is hereby
congratulated on its 1992 Class AAA championship season; and, be
it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to
forward copy of this resolution to Dupont High School principal,
J. Patrick Law, and head football coach, Dick Whitman.
